The Center at Central Park is already busy! The Center's director, Grace McGraw is already coordinating programs to help the school that is run by Central Park Baptist Church. She also has students that are receiving tutoring for their GEDs. And additional ministry work is being done with the residents of Princeton Towers on the hospital campus.
But our new ministry center is just getting started!
We've gotten the building cleared out, cleaned up, and ready for use. We have made plans for ministries to operate out of the center. Some of those ministries will eventually include:
- Senior Adults
- Literacy
- Men’s and Women’s Job Corps
- After school tutoring program
- GED program
- School of music (hopefully)
- Computer skills lab
- Seniors mobility equipment distribution
- Discovery Clubs Bible programs
We will need volunteers from our churches to help us clean up, move furniture, paint, etc. in order to get this building ready. We will let you know the time and dates when we need groups to come. Be ready!!!
We will also be enlisting volunteers to help give leadership to the various ministries. If you have a passion for any of these ministries, please let me know!!
I will be making a recommendation to our human resources committee shortly as to the person I want to hire as the director for the center. This person will give overall direction to the activities in the center. Please pray with us about this very important position.
I am so excited about the possibilities and promise of this center! I truly believe the Lord is going to use it to touch and change many lives for eternity!
