Praying for BBA "Jesus went through all the towns and villages, teaching in their synagogues, preaching the good news of the kingdom and healing every disease and sickness. When he saw the crowds, he had compassion on them, because they were harassed and helpless, like sheep without a shepherd. Then he said to his disciples, ‘The harvest is plentiful but the workers are few. Ask the Lord of the harvest, therefore, to send out workers into his harvest field’" (Matt. 9:35-38, NIV).Your Birmingham Baptist Association is a partnership of local, autonomous churches working together for the spiritual transformation of our community.
Although the BBA is comprised of many different churches, we are united by Christ's commission. We make an intentional effort to share the gospel through servanthood evangelism. By serving others—such as repairing the homes of the needy, giving meals to the homeless, or providing Christmas gifts to needy families—we are conveying the simple message that Jesus loves them.
By serving our community through acts of kindness, we can demonstrate God’s grace and love to those who normally would be unreceptive to hearing the gospel. Together, our churches can demonstrate Christ’s love and compassion. Together, through prayer, we can see people's lives changed. Let’s join together in an evangelistic effort to reach unchurched people through cooperative acts of kindness and prayer.
We have created the 8 Days, 8 Ways to Pray for BBA prayer guide to give you a week (Sunday-Sunday) of focused prayer for your Birmingham Baptist Association. May this printable guide help you to understand how you can continually keep the work of the Association in your prayers. |
